Nippertime Staff

ALL qualified

The Ofsted requirement is that 50% of staff must hold a suitable qualification. At Nippertime we have our own policy which is that ALL staff are qualified with a qualification recognised by Ofsted and have previous nursery experience.

We have volunteers but these are not counted in the staff ratios below. Staff who have completed the appropriate qualification and are awaiting certification are included in ratios.

Before making your decision make sure that when visiting other nurseries that when they say they have qualified staff, how many are qualified. Having ALL qualified staff ensures that your child receives the best possible care and education available

Staff Ratios

Nippertime staff ratios are:-

  • 2 Year olds - 1:4
  • 3-5 Year olds - 1:8

Staff Retention and Remuneration

At Nippertime we want to ensure that our staff is happy and committed to their job. This offers stability to your child's care and education.

We have completed our Quality Improvement Award which was awarded by Surrey County Council

"Surrey County Council Early Years Quality Improvement Award (Surrey QIA) is a type of quality assurance scheme. A quality assurance scheme helps you to look at what you do, identify areas that need to be improved and work out how to make those improvements. And by completing a quality assurance scheme you will be able to prove that you have made progress against a set of agreed standards and raised the quality of your setting"

"Surrey QIA is matched to the five Every Child Matters outcomes:"

  • Being Healthy
  • Staying Safe
  • Enjoying and Achieving
  • Making a Positive Contribution
  • Organisation

"These are used by Ofsted when they inspect childcare providers. The Surrey QIA assessment procedure goes beyond the requirements of Ofsted inspections"

"Childcare providers who have completed the award have chosen to improve the quality of their service and the experiences offered to your child"
